ADVENTURES IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Fallen
-by Ken Bolding
8:45am 12/13
A woman stares out the window
of the Gold Line train.
This is odd because she normally
taps away on her smartphone
with a slight, almost secret smile.
Her usual incandescent glow is gone.
As she turns, I see her eyes.
And I know with certainty that
she has fallen out of love.
Or more likely has been pushed.
Her heart has not survived the impact.
